Day Book 12/11/12

From my pictures... I snapped this picture of Whitnee the other day when we were outside playing. She was keeping her juice in her cheeks and looked like a monkey. :D

Outside my window...... Winter has come, and I don't think it's as cold as it was yesterday but it's still cold.

I am thinking.... how I'm excited to get all dolled up tonight and go to a Christmas party with my hubby.

I am thankful..... that I get to stay home with Whitnee, she is such a joy in my life, and I'm so glad I don't have to miss out on the little things.

From the kitchen.... there is dirty dishes in the sick.. there is always dishes in the sink. GRR

I am creating..... a wreath for Michael's Granny for Christmas.

I am remembering.... that no matter what's going on in my life God is always there to see me through it!

I am going...... to a Christmas party tonight

I am reading..... multiple books right now

I am hoping.... for a white Christmas

I am hearing...... Whitnee singing something random. :D

Around the house.... are lights and things to remind us what season it is.

One of my favorite things.... going out with my husband!

Favorite time of year!

It's only 24 days till Christmas! I'm so excited! This really is my favorite time of year! The lights, the excitement of little kids, especially my Whitnee, and the chance of snow even though it's been in the 70's the past couple of days. Since the weather has been so nice we have spent some time outside enjoying it while we can, because it'll be gone soon. One day when we were out playing I snapped this picture of Whitnee. She is so sweet! That fake smile is so silly!

Last weekend we headed to Silver Dollar City to see Santa. Whitnee was so excited and talked about riding the roller coaster. She was good until she got on it and then looked terrified the whole time. HA When she got off she told me she was a little afraid and would have to ride it next time when she is a little bigger. :D I was able to snap this one family picture while on the train.

Whitnee has been such a little stinker the past couple of weeks, so Julie wrote Whitnee a letter telling her Santa was going to give her another chance and also made Whitnee some cookies. She kept telling Julie over and over again thank you for the cookies and that they were so good. :D

I can't remember if I told ya'll that for Christmas we got us a Keurig. Michael and I have wanted one for some time now! Michael told me that we wouldn't be able to open it till Christmas time. I wasn't very happy about that, as I am very impatient! But much to my surprise when he came home this afternoon after work he asked if I would be upset if we opened it tonight because someone he works with needed a coffee pot and we could give them ours. How could one argue with that? So tonight we had our first cup of coffee from our fancy machine. :D Of course it had to be in a Razorback cup, and I had to take a picture. I take pictures of everything now a days!

Today Michael got the rest of the Christmas lights put on the house. Whitnee wanted to get up on the roof with Michael, 2 years ago we did the same thing! She thought she was such a big girl being able to get up there with her daddy!

Tonight we got to start our 25 books counting down Christmas. I've had them under the tree since Tuesday so she has been asking since then to open them. She has also been asking when Santa comes. She told us the other day then when he comes she will open the door tell him Hi, and ask him if he has brought her present yet. So I had to explain to her how that wont work. I'm glad she now has a visual of it getting closer to Santa coming. She was so excited to get to open one of the books tonight. You can see it in her face!

We also started something else this year, a chain of verses telling us the real meaning of Christmas. When we were talking about how Christmas is a time for sharing Whitnee told me that Jesus is dead. I told her she was right and that He is living in mommies heart and in daddies heart and one day he will live in Whitnee's heart. She got all sad and asked when he will live in her heart so we explained to her that when she is old enough she will ask Him to be in her heart. Just makes me so happy to know she is already starting to understand what we are teaching her and praying she will one day except! This is her and her Daddy reading the verses for tonight.

I hope you are all starting great traditions, and creating memories with your families! I look forward to doing this every year as Whitnee gets older!

Busy Weekend!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I know we did! We had some pretty important stuff go on for us it was great! Friday night we had Thanksgiving dinner with our church family. It was a great time! Then Saturday Michael had to get up and go to work and Whitnee and I headed over to help my Grandma. Then when we were all done doing that had her first haircut! I had gone back and forth and on if I wanted to get cut it because it was so long. However the ends of it was looking bad, 3 years of growth. I was so happy we got it done! It looks so pretty and healthy now. She looked just like a big girl and loved every moment of it. Here is a couple of pictures.

This was our before picture, she was to busy driving the plain and looking around to look at mommy.

Getting her hair done

All done and blown out, it brought out the sassy in her.

Love this! Can't wait to look back on it in the years to come

Soo pretty!

Later that night we went over to a friends house, they have a little girl that is 3 days shy of being a year younger then Whitnee. The Bentonville Square turned there Christmas lights on that night so we figured we would take the girls and let them run around. It was such a pretty night!

How cute do they look? So happy!

They walked around holding hands like this, it was so cute!

I told Whitnee to do a silly face, and this is what I got, haha!

Well Julie has been all over the house and Whitnee is still enjoying it. Here is a picture of where she is today, it's probably been Whitnee's favorite.

I'm so looking forward to this week! The hubby has to only work half the week and then we get to celebrate Thanksgiving with Michael's family. It's going to be a blast, then it's my most favorite time of year, Christmas. We get to put up our tree, our outside lights, listen to Christmas music. We are taking Whitnee to see Santa Clause on Saturday she is going to be so excited! I hope you all have a great week and remember all the things we have to be thankful for this season not just family and friends but that we get to all be together and celebrate freely with out fear, and that we actually have food on our tables.

Is it Christmas time yet?

Wow I've been so bad this year about wanting to decorate early for Christmas. In years past it hasn't been that bad to wait till after Thanksgiving, however now that Whitnee is getting older and I see the excitement on her face I want to start early. Am I the only one who is having that problem. The pure excitement and joy gets me every time! I have found some ways to keep me occupied and to fix the itch I keep wanting to scratch. I want to show them with you.

This is my winter holiday wreath! I didn't want to do just a Christmas one, 'cause then I would have to make another one for when Christmas is over, so with this one I can keep it up all winter long. YAY! this was my first time make one with tulle, it really liked the way it turned out and even Michael mentioned that he likes it.

I'm all about making Christmas gifts and this year I made one for Whitnee. She had a bow holder given to her at one of the showers we had. Well at the time I thought, wow I'll never get enough bows to fill this thing up. Well was I wrong! in 3 years we have it over flowing, so I've decided to make Whitnee another one. I'm so happy with how it turned out.

This year Michael and I decided that Whitnee was old enough to have her own Christmas tree in her room. So we made a deal with Whitnee, if she could keep her room clean for a week, we would get her a tree, she decided she wanted a pink one. Well it was cute because one day she was in her room playing and came running into the living room and told me, mommy I'm done playing in my room and I need your help cleaning it up. I was so proud of her for asking me to help instead of just letting it be. So tonight on our way to Walmart, and Hobby Lobby we went. So was so excited and would have got all the ornaments at Hobby Lobby if she could have. Here are a few pictures of us decorating and her tree.

When we got the tree at Walmart she wanted to carry it herself and when I asked to take a picture she refused to let me see her face, silly girl!

Close up of some of the ornaments. She has Hello Kitty's (or Shelby's as she calls them) Gingerbread men and Women, peppermints (her fav), shoes, purses etc. Such a pretty girly tree :D

When did she get so big?

Again with the hiding the face thing, I love this little girl with ever part of me! I'm one lucky mommy!!

Things with Julie are going great, Whitnee LOVES looking for her every morning and when she is so excited to see all the different places she can hide.

Hoping the next couple of weeks hurry up so I can put up our big tree and the rest of our decorations. Beside the cold this really is my favorite time of the year!

Until next time, hope you and your families are well!

New Tradition

I'm so excited about the new tradition that we are starting on our family this week. So I've wanted to put our Christmas tree up soo bad! The hubby wont let me put it up. :( So we have kinda compromised and are starting something Christmasy this week. We are starting the Elf On The Shelf  , if you haven't heard of it click the link and read up on it. We are also adding a little twist on to it to incorporate the real meaning of Christmas the birth of Christ. Whitnee has named our elf Julie, so Julie is going to go visit Santa tonight and come back with this letter:

Dear Whitnee,

I hope you ready for the Christmas season and getting ready to enjoy time with your family!. I hear most of your family lives close to you, except your Poppie, Tif Tif, and Desi.

I’m sending this letter with someone very special– one of my little Elves.

Why am I sending her?

Well, this time of year – this time we call “Christmas” – gets very busy and kind of crazy. Everyone just focuses on “want, want, want.” Have you been telling your Mommy and Daddy what you want for Christmas? It’s ok to want a few things, but I’ve seen people – grown up and kids – get very selfish with all the stuff they want. They want so many things that they forget the whole reason we even have Christmas….

Jesus – God’s son who was born a long, long, long time ago…

The very first “Christmas present” ever given to the whole big world.

I don’t want you to forget about Jesus as you prepare for Christmas. I want you to enjoy all the fun – hot chocolate, singing Christmas songs, candy and presents – but I don’t want you to forget the most important present: God’s love for us and His son, Jesus. I don’t want you to forget that it’s still important to love others … to be nice to other people … to help other people (even your Mommy, Daddy) … to show other people how wonderful Jesus is.

So, the little Elf is here to help you (and your Mommy and Daddy) remember these important parts about Christmas: Jesus, God’s love and our job of joyfully sharing that love with others through our gifts, kind words and loving actions (the things we do for one another).

My Elf is going to hang out at your house, watching everything that happens … as a reminder for you to:

  • Love each other
  • Speak nicely to one another
  • Help each other
  • Help your friends and neighbors too
  • Give to people who don’t have all the stuff you have
  • Remember that God loves you kiddos so, so, so much.

Take care of my little friend – she and I will talk every night about you and how you are doing this Christmas Season.

Looking forward to seeing great things and wonderful love from each of you,

Santa

P.S. My friend told me that you have named her Julie, what a great name! Thank you for picking such a special name for a special little elf!

Whitnee is so excited to play hide and seek with Julie, and understand we can't touch her. Mommy is so excited to have some Christmas cheer in the house. Here is Julies first picture on the job

I hope you all are planning on starting some great memories with your families! I look forward to blogging more and showing you some of the stuff that Julie does.

Great weekend!

This past weekend was an amazing one! Saturday morning Michael had to work. So Whitnee and I watched the razorback game from home. We won!!!! It was such an amazing game! Then we headed out to do a little shopping with daddy. The weather all of a sudden got cold and poor Whitnee had no winter clothes. We had a good time! Daddy even enjoyed the shopping. ;) however I think Whintee enjoyed it a little to much. Ha he said mommy was creating a monster. :) I say it's the joy of having a little girl. The other day I had my holiday candle lit and it gave me the itch to put up my Christmas tree! Ha! If I could I would but I have a strict no Christmas stuff till the day after Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll go to Hobby Lobby and drool over the ornaments. :) so excited for this up coming weekend! My dad will be in town!! Woo hoo!! That and we are going to Apple Butter maken days in mo! This week can't go fast enough! Hope u have a blessed week!

Day Book 100312

From my pictures... this was taken the first week of September, I've just been really bad about blogging here recently. Whitnee started Cubbies at our church, she has been loving it. It makes me so proud when she learns her verse for the week, and then talks about all the cool stuff she did in class.

Outside my window...... it's a pretty sunny day! The nights are getting colder winter is on it's way, am I ready for the cooler weather yes, and I'm ready for the freezing weather no.

I am thinking.... not a lot. Today is my day with out Whitnee so I don't have to do much thinking.

I am thankful..... for family, last night Michael and I went to Stevo and Makisa's house, it's just so nice to be able to spend time with them.

From the kitchen.... I really wan to make peanut butter cookies

I am creating..... nothing, nothing at all

I am remembering.... that I need to call the people who worked on my car last week 'cause it's driving really ruff.

I am going...... to church tonight, makes me happy 'cause Whitnee was sick this weekend and I haven't done anything with myself.

I am reading..... multiple books right now

I am hoping.... umm I don't think I'm hoping for anything

I am hearing...... the TV

Around the house.... it's a mess! Sick mommy and sick babies lead to messy houses

One of my favorite things.... my nook!

Slacker

So I've been really bad about doing my pits and peaks this week. So there wont be a post on Sunday with them. I will hopefully start fresh on Monday. School has been going well! She now knows what an A is. :) woo hoo. Tuesday we took some time to go play with some friends! We went to the splash park, Whitnee really enjoyed it. Life has been pretty good for us this week! Since school has started life has slowed down a little but for us. Speaking of schools, we have found a preschool for Whitnee and I'm so excited! I've got to get all the stuff put together and take it up there to put her on the waiting list for next year. Is she really old enough to start school? Wow! Time sure is flying by!
Hope you are all having a great week'.

First Day of Home School

Today was the first day of our little adventure we are calling school. Whitnee has known her ABCs for a long time now but as far as knowing her letters she isn't very good. So we are taking a letter a week and doing stuff that goes around that letter. Today we made apple prints, ate crockpot apple sauce, and colored the letter A. Whitnee did very well. She has been asking me for a long time if she could go to school so that's why I've started this now. Next year she will go to preschool and then the year after that my baby will be in Kindergarden! WOW! Here is a couple of pictures from our day.

Ideas...

Yet again I have been gone for some time, and there has been no rhyme or reason to my posts so I'm starting something new.

As of this week my goal is to blog ever week, I'm going to keep track of all the silly things Whitnee says are does through the week and post them here. I'm also going to write down my peak (high) of every day and the pit (low) of the day then blog them. I'm also going to do a specific praise of the day and then a prayer request for the day. I want to be able to look back on this blog one day and remember all the many things Whitnee said and then see all the prayers God has answered. I will end this blog with some things Whitnee has said in the past couple of weeks

  • While out side playing Whitnee got her chair and told me shew as looking for the shave, also known as the shade. :D
  • Whitnee was telling her daddy when he got home to not park his motorcycle in the garage 'cause there is a lots of stuff in there.
  • Getting dinner and a man asked Whitnee where she got her hair from, for those of you who don't actually know us Whitnee has super white hair, and she said from my mommies house.
  • Whitnee and her Meme were drawing on her Meme was showing her how she draws eyes and Whitnee says wow that's cool.
We have so much fun with her!

So I'm also going to download the blogger app for my phone and maybe that will keep me responsible for doing my blogs. :D Hope you all have a great weekend! We are headed for a little get way with our princess and some friends!

Summer Summer Summer Time

Well summer has come with a bang! It has been so hot here recently! I was talking with my dad this past weekend and he said it was around 104 in Vegas. Well Monday I had to call and ask him how hot it was 'cause it was 104 here, and that wasn't even with the humidity! WOW! So today I took the princess swimming for the fist time this summer, lets just say she LOVES it! We got her a new floaty and she was a little scared at first 'cause she didn't trust the floaties but as soon as she understood they were going to keep her above water she was all about it. She even told me I didn't need to catch her when she jumped off the side. Here is a the only picture I got when we got to the pool she looks like such a big girl!

Life has been so busy for us all here recently! I have been going and going. Last week we didn't even get any of us in bed before 10!

God is doing some great things in our church! I'm so excited about what is happening and what is coming up for us as a church family!

Well I hope you are having a great summer and staying cool!

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Wow where have I been?

I have been really bad lately about posting. I'm sorry! Life has been pretty busy for us since Whitnee turned there. I will do a catch up with pictures like I always do. It seems to work best. I will start with our sweet little girls 3rd birthday party.
Mommy and the sweet birthday girl.

We made Whitnee's cake/cupcakes this year. I'm so happy with how they turned out! Stevie and Brian came over Thursday to help decorate and I would be so lost with out them helping. They turned out so so cute!

Whtinee with some of her friends.. Do you know how had it is to get 3 3yr olds to all look at the camera at the same time. :D

Whitnee got a swing set for her birthday and was soo happy! This girl would swing all day if we let her!

A couple weeks later we took my niece Hannah to Silver Dollar City. She went with is last year at Christmas time, and we told her that we would take her again this summer when she could actually ride more rides. We had so much fun with her!

Oh Hannah, always being silly!

Headed to dinner..
Michael had vaca at the end of the month so we took Whitnee and her friend Hailey to the Tulsa Zoo.

I freaking love the faces the girls are making in this picture! HAHA

I sure do love this little girl! She makes my heart melt!

So sleepy!

As you can tell life has been pretty good for us this past couple of weeks! It was nice having the hubby off work for a week. Whitnee enjoyed having her daddy around more. We have now gotten back into our routine. That and I also realized that as of this month Whitnee has been potty trained for year! WOW! Seems like just yesterday we started the adventure! Our first day of Training, that is a link to the first post I made about her going potty.

Well I hope you are all enjoying your summer!
