Busy Weekend!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I know we did! We had some pretty important stuff go on for us it was great! Friday night we had Thanksgiving dinner with our church family. It was a great time! Then Saturday Michael had to get up and go to work and Whitnee and I headed over to help my Grandma. Then when we were all done doing that had her first haircut! I had gone back and forth and on if I wanted to get cut it because it was so long. However the ends of it was looking bad, 3 years of growth. I was so happy we got it done! It looks so pretty and healthy now. She looked just like a big girl and loved every moment of it. Here is a couple of pictures.

This was our before picture, she was to busy driving the plain and looking around to look at mommy.

Getting her hair done

All done and blown out, it brought out the sassy in her.

Love this! Can't wait to look back on it in the years to come

Soo pretty!

Later that night we went over to a friends house, they have a little girl that is 3 days shy of being a year younger then Whitnee. The Bentonville Square turned there Christmas lights on that night so we figured we would take the girls and let them run around. It was such a pretty night!

How cute do they look? So happy!

They walked around holding hands like this, it was so cute!

I told Whitnee to do a silly face, and this is what I got, haha!

Well Julie has been all over the house and Whitnee is still enjoying it. Here is a picture of where she is today, it's probably been Whitnee's favorite.

I'm so looking forward to this week! The hubby has to only work half the week and then we get to celebrate Thanksgiving with Michael's family. It's going to be a blast, then it's my most favorite time of year, Christmas. We get to put up our tree, our outside lights, listen to Christmas music. We are taking Whitnee to see Santa Clause on Saturday she is going to be so excited! I hope you all have a great week and remember all the things we have to be thankful for this season not just family and friends but that we get to all be together and celebrate freely with out fear, and that we actually have food on our tables.

Is it Christmas time yet?

Wow I've been so bad this year about wanting to decorate early for Christmas. In years past it hasn't been that bad to wait till after Thanksgiving, however now that Whitnee is getting older and I see the excitement on her face I want to start early. Am I the only one who is having that problem. The pure excitement and joy gets me every time! I have found some ways to keep me occupied and to fix the itch I keep wanting to scratch. I want to show them with you.

This is my winter holiday wreath! I didn't want to do just a Christmas one, 'cause then I would have to make another one for when Christmas is over, so with this one I can keep it up all winter long. YAY! this was my first time make one with tulle, it really liked the way it turned out and even Michael mentioned that he likes it.

I'm all about making Christmas gifts and this year I made one for Whitnee. She had a bow holder given to her at one of the showers we had. Well at the time I thought, wow I'll never get enough bows to fill this thing up. Well was I wrong! in 3 years we have it over flowing, so I've decided to make Whitnee another one. I'm so happy with how it turned out.

This year Michael and I decided that Whitnee was old enough to have her own Christmas tree in her room. So we made a deal with Whitnee, if she could keep her room clean for a week, we would get her a tree, she decided she wanted a pink one. Well it was cute because one day she was in her room playing and came running into the living room and told me, mommy I'm done playing in my room and I need your help cleaning it up. I was so proud of her for asking me to help instead of just letting it be. So tonight on our way to Walmart, and Hobby Lobby we went. So was so excited and would have got all the ornaments at Hobby Lobby if she could have. Here are a few pictures of us decorating and her tree.

When we got the tree at Walmart she wanted to carry it herself and when I asked to take a picture she refused to let me see her face, silly girl!

Close up of some of the ornaments. She has Hello Kitty's (or Shelby's as she calls them) Gingerbread men and Women, peppermints (her fav), shoes, purses etc. Such a pretty girly tree :D

When did she get so big?

Again with the hiding the face thing, I love this little girl with ever part of me! I'm one lucky mommy!!

Things with Julie are going great, Whitnee LOVES looking for her every morning and when she is so excited to see all the different places she can hide.

Hoping the next couple of weeks hurry up so I can put up our big tree and the rest of our decorations. Beside the cold this really is my favorite time of the year!

Until next time, hope you and your families are well!

New Tradition

I'm so excited about the new tradition that we are starting on our family this week. So I've wanted to put our Christmas tree up soo bad! The hubby wont let me put it up. :( So we have kinda compromised and are starting something Christmasy this week. We are starting the Elf On The Shelf  , if you haven't heard of it click the link and read up on it. We are also adding a little twist on to it to incorporate the real meaning of Christmas the birth of Christ. Whitnee has named our elf Julie, so Julie is going to go visit Santa tonight and come back with this letter:

Dear Whitnee,

I hope you ready for the Christmas season and getting ready to enjoy time with your family!. I hear most of your family lives close to you, except your Poppie, Tif Tif, and Desi.

I’m sending this letter with someone very special– one of my little Elves.

Why am I sending her?

Well, this time of year – this time we call “Christmas” – gets very busy and kind of crazy. Everyone just focuses on “want, want, want.” Have you been telling your Mommy and Daddy what you want for Christmas? It’s ok to want a few things, but I’ve seen people – grown up and kids – get very selfish with all the stuff they want. They want so many things that they forget the whole reason we even have Christmas….

Jesus – God’s son who was born a long, long, long time ago…

The very first “Christmas present” ever given to the whole big world.

I don’t want you to forget about Jesus as you prepare for Christmas. I want you to enjoy all the fun – hot chocolate, singing Christmas songs, candy and presents – but I don’t want you to forget the most important present: God’s love for us and His son, Jesus. I don’t want you to forget that it’s still important to love others … to be nice to other people … to help other people (even your Mommy, Daddy) … to show other people how wonderful Jesus is.

So, the little Elf is here to help you (and your Mommy and Daddy) remember these important parts about Christmas: Jesus, God’s love and our job of joyfully sharing that love with others through our gifts, kind words and loving actions (the things we do for one another).

My Elf is going to hang out at your house, watching everything that happens … as a reminder for you to:

  • Love each other
  • Speak nicely to one another
  • Help each other
  • Help your friends and neighbors too
  • Give to people who don’t have all the stuff you have
  • Remember that God loves you kiddos so, so, so much.

Take care of my little friend – she and I will talk every night about you and how you are doing this Christmas Season.

Looking forward to seeing great things and wonderful love from each of you,

Santa

P.S. My friend told me that you have named her Julie, what a great name! Thank you for picking such a special name for a special little elf!

Whitnee is so excited to play hide and seek with Julie, and understand we can't touch her. Mommy is so excited to have some Christmas cheer in the house. Here is Julies first picture on the job

I hope you all are planning on starting some great memories with your families! I look forward to blogging more and showing you some of the stuff that Julie does.
